We babysat our friend's dog, Sam, for a few days this week. She and Murphy had a blast running around the house, eating bones, and being lazy. Murphy was in love, and acted quite inappropriately at times... if ya know what I mean. I also got a kick out of Murphy's toys this morning; that pic shows his "room." Murphy is quite serious about his toys and bones and can't stand when I put them in neat little piles as seen above. He usually drags them back out within 5 minutes. I love you Murphy!

My mom gave me this clover for St. Patrick's Day. A few weeks later, I went on a small vacation and forgot to ask my husband to water it. I came home to a droopy, nearly dead clover. My heart was broken! This plant is really cool. At night the leaves close up and then open their green faces again each morning. I did not give up on my clover! For weeks I pulled off dead, yellow stems, until there was only one left. I continued to water it as if it were alive and thriving. Then, I started noticing something...small buds rising out of the dirt! And now, four months later, check my clover out! Thank you clover, for giving us clean air each day, and for being an all around kick ass plant! Do you live with any awesome plants?

Lillies from my awesome husband to welcome me home
Hilarious book from Cassie
(basically a rule book for dogs; written by folks from The Onion)
Another Wally Lamb novel; it's 900 pages, but hard to put down!
REAL Summer Tomatoes
I got this locally grown heirloom tomato at the Butter Bean Village Market;
This is quite possibly the best tomato I've ever had!
Myself (why am I standing like that?), Sarah, & Cassie
Scout's Landing, Zion National Park
A Marmet sunbathing at Cedar Breaks National Monument
I'm finally home after a nearly two week journey to the West. It was an amazing trip, but it's also wonderful to be home with my family! Instead of posting millions of pics, I uploaded them to Flickr. There is a link to the left that will lead you to my profile. It was so amazing to see those huge red rock mountains in Zion. It made me feel very humble, small, and relaxed. Thanks again to Cassie for a great visit!

Cassie and I have had such a blast hanging on the Virgin River this week. This river has carved out the entire valley over millions of years. The water is super clear and a refreshing 60 degrees (estimate)! I've learned that the best way to deal with a 104 degree dry heat is to grab a cold beer and dip your feet into an amazing river. And call me crazy, but I think the minerals in the water have made my skin look and feel amazing, and no humidity means good hair every day!
One of the things I admired most about Denver were these beautifully painted pianos located throughout 16th Street. Random people just stop and play; some are horrible, but others are amazingly talented. It made me wonder just how many hidden talents people never reveal. I also thought the green and pink bike was pretty darn cute!

Emily and Oanh
Me at the MM
One of my favorite restaurants is Mellow Mushroom, and coincidentally, they opened a new branch this Monday just blocks from my hotel! Of COURSE I had to go. I dragged my coworkers, Emily, Oanh, and Tri out for some serious pizza time. If you haven't tried Mellow Mushroom, DO IT! I had some delicious ale and a cheese and mushroom pizza, and bought a T-shirt with a pink elephant on it (from the infamous DUMBO scene) that says "Freshly Baked." Also, I'm loving watching the sun rise and set over those gorgeous mountains. I wish my husband and my pup were here!

View from my hotel
Bulletin Board I Made
Check out the view from my hotel! I love opening the curtains every morning and seeing those beautiful mountains in the distance. On a side note, I wanted to display the bulletin board I made with interpreter photos on it. I love doing stuff like that! Off to work!
16th Street Mall, Denver, CO
My Co-worker's Pretty Drink (LOVE the menu design)
Well, here I am, blogging from the Rocky Mountains! After an exhausting trip: 1 hour to check suitcase at airport, my suitcase was 9 pounds overweight so I had to put that in my carry on, a 40 minute delay for takeoff, running through the Memphis airport for a layover, making the flight by 1 minute, and a $60 cab ride from the Denver airport to the hotel...I'm HERE! The weather is lovely, NO humidity. We're on the 16th street mall; blocks of restaurants and shops, very quaint! There are salad bars everywhere, and I've developed a taste for fresh berries as a topping YUM! My body is still getting used to being 2 hours behind...I woke up this morning at 5 am feeling quite energetic, but I forced myself to sleep, haha. Well, more from Denver later. Have you watched the Neistat Brothers yet?

Honeymoon, Oak Island, NC, 2009
August 1, 2010 will be our one year anniversary...I can't believe a year has already passed! It's been wonderful, and sometimes I have to pinch myself to believe that I'm so lucky to be in love with such a wonderful man. Can't wait to make more memories!

I can't say enough about "The Neistat Brothers," a new show on HBO. It features the adventures and mishaps of the two brothers through their videography and stop motion techniques. Their stories are funny, endearing, and unique; the style and format of the show is so inspiring! I want to make a mini-movie!
