Summer Grubbin'

I'm officially in the busy season for work...conference time! Off to Denver next week for some Rocky Mountain air and (hopefully) no humidity.

Summer is officially on and it shows in the food! The farmer's market tomatoes have been absolutely delicious the past two weeks. Deep red, juicy, tangy, and brought to life with a little salt and pepper. A sprig or two of basil doesn't hurt either. It's amazing how a good summer tomato can brighten my day.

Strawberry and cream biscuits...I saw this recipe on Smitten Kitchen and thought about the super ripe, juicy strawberries at the farmer's market right now. These are the perfect way to use ripe berries before they melt. They did not disappoint with a drizzle of honey and a smear of jam.

And the Summer Grubbin' is just gonna keep getting better!

  1. that tomato looks divine! yum! don't worry, no humidity here in denver. in fact we could use a little (or a lot) moisture! there is a huge wildfire burning right near my home town :( 3 largest in CO history... will you have any down time while in denver? maybe we could meet up!
