We've officially reached the halfway point in 2014! I've had so much fun doing my weekly documentation of Murphy. This week, he's been helping me try out my new external flash (600 ex rt). I'm sure you can see his unbridled enthusiasm jumping out of these pics, taken in my very dimly lit living room (read: Murphy's evening nap time). The flash is awesome and I can't wait to learn how to use all of its tools and tricks!

After a long and busy summer, it felt really good to get some gardening done last weekend! My empty pots and various overgrown branches and weeds were depressing and dull. So I headed to Lowe's and stocked up! It was a lovely and much needed afternoon outside, and the patio finally feels summer ready. Better late than never right?
This succulent is my favorite plant so far.
Since this interesting weed decided to make a home in the usual tomato plant spot, I'm letting it play out!
In my opinion, you can't go wrong with Coleus plants. They're hardy, colorful, love shade, and get really big!
The Tiger's Eye is a new addition this year, and it supposedly gets quite large. Petunias are my go-to favorite every summer. Cheers to a colorful garden!
